Starting the Process
The first step in volunteering at Nazarene Hospital
is to contact World Medical Mission (contact Linda Herman,
herman@samaritan.org)
to express your interest. They will help with scheduling,
planning, travel arrangements, medical registration and visas.
We ask that volunteers come for at least a month.
Any doctor who serves at Nazarene Hospital must be registered (licensed) with the Medical Board of PNG. This process is usually fairly straight-forward. If coming through World Medical Mission, then they will coordinate this process, as well as other details in regard to the experience.
Registration and Visa Process
You will need to supply the documents listed below, either through WMM or directly to us. The best way to send these is through DHL. DHL has severely reduced services in the US, so it may be necessary to use UPS or another service that forwards to DHL.
If you are a WMM volunteer, send the documents to WMM.
